Role
Join us as our new Quality and Qualifications Manager and be part of our Global Learning Lab, which catalyses innovative, high quality, accredited programmes through our global community of associate facilitators, staff and partners.
The Social Enterprise Academy helps thousands of people to develop themselves and their organisations so that they can change the world for the better.
Through dynamic learning and development programmes, facilitated by our network of skilled learning facilitators, we help entrepreneurship and leadership to flourish in organisations, networks, schools and colleges. We work with social entrepreneurs, chief executives, frontline teams, young people in and out of education and many others to support anyone contributing to social change.
Many of our programmes are accredited, ensuring learners can gain formal qualifications as recognition for their learning. Assessments focus on learning from work-based situations, helping learners to apply what they learn during their programme and beyond.
The Quality and Qualifications Manager role is crucial to the Global Learning Lab, ensuring we maintain our quality assurance standards, manage relationships with our awarding bodies and continue to expand the Academy’s offering of credit rated programmes.

Job Purpose
To lead, drive and have organisation-wide accountability for the maintenance of our learning programme quality standards and for the initial and ongoing achievement of qualification awarding partner accreditation requirements.
The post holder supports the Academy’s sales and growth objectives by overseeing the establishment of robust quality processes and associated evidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that appropriate quality assurance frameworks, standards, systems and processes are in place and implemented effectively.
- Ensure that staff and external delivery colleagues are appropriately trained and supported to comply with quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance on credit rating and accreditation matters relating to the development of new programme content.
- Provide subject expertise and up-to-date awareness of policy developments relating to UK and International accreditation systems and opportunities.
- Take ownership of strategic and operational relationships with the Academy’s key accreditation partners globally.
- Act as the named internal verifier, liaising with programme designers, facilitators, learning coordinators, markers and learners to undertake all relevant duties including sampling activities, answering queries relating to assessment processes and criteria, maintaining up-to-date records of internal quality assurance activity, monitoring and supporting the work of assessors, facilitating relevant CPD and ensuring any actions required by accrediting bodies are undertaken.
- Lead on the identification of appropriate international accreditation processes and procedures to support international accreditation and qualifications (in consultation with colleagues and Hubs).

We are looking for an ambitious, driven, and passionate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead, who can operate at both a strategic and operational level, to lead further development and delivery of our Connect service.

You will lead our Connect training and development, consultancy and advice service, ensuring it is financially sustainable and effectively positioned in the market, in line with the organisational vision, goals and values. You will design, plan, deliver, commission and manage the Connect service offering which will include relevant training programmes, workshops, bespoke consultancy support as well as resources supporting provision of high-quality advice and guidance.
This is initially a standalone position with the potential to build a small team.
You will have proven experience of working in an EDI role and of designing, delivering, implementing and evaluating training. With excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills, you will be highly self-motivated and demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude.

Summary of Post and Project
CashBack: Community Connections is a partnership project in West Lothian supporting young people at risk of offending, that will address three identified gaps in local justice provision:
- Preventing offending behaviour including very early intervention prior to charge
- Providing longevity in service support, when needed, for high–tariff young people already receiving support from youth justice but requiring a sustained, comprehensive intervention to support them through their complex journey to case closure
- Provide support for young people due for release from custody
It offers needs led holistic one-to-one and group work support for young people between the ages of 10 and 25, who are involved in offending behaviour or at risk of entering the Youth Justice system in the future and their families.
The project is led by trauma-trained staff, focussing on reasons for offending, behaviour, promoting consequential thinking, working around restorative justice and the impact of Anti-Social Behaviour and criminal behaviour on victims and the wider community.
Activities include skills for life and work, volunteering, health and wellbeing and employability support and is co-designed through each persons ‘programme for change’, creating positive connectedness to others in their lives and their community.
The Larder and their partners Youth Action Project, Project Scotland and West Lothian College are recruiting an experienced and dynamic Youth Worker to join the team on a full time basis to support the growth of the project. The post holder will deliver one to one and group work sessions across the whole project but will have a focus on the progression pathway of each young person, based on their needs and interests.
This is a new post and may require some evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the individual and their family. As part of the delivery team the successful candidate will support progression routes out of the project for each young person. This will involve fostering positive relationships with colleagues, young people, their families and a range of organisations, in the public, private and third sectors – offering progression options.
As a member of the CashBack team you will be reliable, enthusiastic and capable of positive interaction with all stakeholders and colleagues. You will have excellent communication skills, and able to engage with our learners in an empathatic and professional manner.
Experience of working with young people in a youth work or employability setting is essential as is a willingness to participate in further development in the post.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week and we are looking for someone who can drive and has their own transport due to the nature of the role.
