Role
• Do you understand the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and are passionate about gender inequalities and want to make a difference to the lives of women and their children affected by domestic abuse?
• Do you have knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and have a reflective and non-judgemental approach?
• Do you have experience of providing 1:1 person centred support?
• Can you promote the safety and empowerment of those you support?
• Participate in Argyll and Bute’s out of hours service user on call (additional payment will be provided)
• Applicants should have an HNC or Social Care qualification or demonstrate a willingness to meet the SSSC registration

Outreach and Caledonian Specialist Support Worker

As an Outreach and Caledonian Specialist Support Worker you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the Outreach Services, providing a pro-active, holistic service to women who have experienced domestic abuse and whose partner or former partner is attending the Caledonian System men’s programme.
The job involves ensuring that a high standard of crisis intervention and casework support is provided to women escaping, experiencing or requiring support with domestic abuse issues.

Candidates should have good communication skills and a passion for supporting recovery from domestic abuse.
The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in health and social care or other relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).

Children and Young People’s Counsellor

Fife Women’s Aid are looking for a part-time counsellor for our Children and Young People’s counselling service. The counsellor will provide direct counselling to children and young people who have experience of domestic abuse. This will mainly be delivered face-to-face, with remote working to suit the needs of individual children and young people as required.
The successful applicant will be qualified to Counselling Diploma level or above and will have excellent counselling skills, having had 2 years’ experience of working in a similar environment.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to work effectively with a range of multi-agency partners is essential for this post.
