The Charity Manager will be required to develop the charity as an integral part of the business, building and maintaining profitable, long-term funding relationships with Corporates; and establish relationships with all key stakeholders both internally and externally across Moray, the Scottish Highlands and North West Aberdeenshire.

The ideal Charity Manager will have extensive local corporate contacts and be able to demonstrate how these relationships will be beneficial. Networking will be a major part of this role in order to recruit companies to adopt MFR Cash for Kids.

Our Team

Reporting to the Regional Charity Manager for the East of Scotland, you will be responsible for one area covering Moray, the Scottish Highlands and North West Aberdeenshire. Working closely with your own team, the wider Scotland team and the UK. You will also be working with all the radio teams to engage with the audiences to generate awareness and funds.

This is fixed term contract to cover 2023

Role Responsibility

• Be responsible for delivering the strategy, planning and day to day management of the charity.
• Responsible for achieving agreed fundraising targets through the effective implementation of high-profile events and campaigns in the plan.
• Research, identify and develop new fundraising opportunities and areas of potential support, with new corporate partners whilst maintaining relationships with current supporters including identifying high net worth supporters and corporate contacts.
• Liaising with fundraisers, beneficiaries and radio personnel to ensure smooth running of all fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Maximise fundraising potential of all events and activities and hit targets.
• Raising awareness of the charity and its work.
• Providing client management and project co-ordination with colleagues.
• Undertaking other duties that might be assigned from time to time.

The Ideal Candidate

• Demonstrate a proven track record and experience of building, developing and managing key relationships including people management and/or leading a team
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal & written
• Be energetic, positive, persuasive and enthusiastic, with a hands-on approach and great work ethic
• Proven track record in a sales/corporate environment
• Project Management skills and ability to collaborate with key stakeholders
• Be able to prioritise work effectively with maximum impact on cash growth
• Have the ability to work on own initiative
• Have flexibility to work evenings/weekends when required.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, 365 Teams, Outlook & presentation systems
• Have a solid knowledge of all modern Social Media networking tools and able to use them effectively
• Be a team player - to develop a good working relationship with the charity team, wider radio station teams and national charity team
• Experience of either charity fundraising, events, or marketing/PR is advantageous
• Presentation and sales skills are essential and must be demonstrated
• Have a passion and vision to develop this role
• Have a good personality, confidence and sense of humour
• A background in fundraising is preferable

About Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC)

Aberlour. Child Care Trust is leading a Partnership of Highland Council, Barnardos Highland Services and Right There to provide practical support care and integration to Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC).

This is a new partnership which focuses on three areas – feeling safe and settling in, support and integration, throughcare aftercare with the aim of improving the lives of children by using a rights-based trauma informed approach.

The service will work in partnership to ensure that the young people have access to education and learning opportunities.

What we are looking for....

As the Service Administrator you will work directly to the Admissions and Programmes Manager providing comprehensive day to day administrative support for the service.

You should be organised, used to working in a busy office environment and possess the skills to deliver a full administration service including reception duties, co-ordinating meetings, mail and maintaining manual and electronic storage and retrieval systems. You will also coordinate building and equipment needs as required in consultation with your manager.

An important part of the role is to provide financial administration for the service, supported by the Senior Finance Officer. You must be able to work with high levels of accuracy in recording and inputting data and in providing regular management information, in an agreed format and also responding to ad hoc requests as required.

You must have excellent IT skills, and experience of using the range of Microsoft Office tools on a daily basis: Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

You will be proficient in using Microsoft Word such as to enable you to support the production of a range of reports. As you will often be the first point of contact within the service for a range of social care, education and other professionals you will need to have strong verbal communication skills.

The post-holder will be a key member of the Advocacy and Participation team within South Lanarkshire, supporting young people from across the region and wider Local Authorities to ensure their rights are upheld and their voices are heard. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide independent advocacy, children’s rights, and participation opportunities for children and young people who are looked after, Care Experienced or subject to formal processes and structures. The role will see you actively participating in child’s plan meetings, children’s hearings, and other formal processes across South Lanarkshire, as well as assisting children and young people to prepare for them. In partnership with professionals, carers, and organisations, you will help to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people by keeping detailed records of the work you undertake, writing liaison reports, and monitoring statistics.

As a vital part of the work of Who Cares? Scotland, your role will include facilitating group opportunities for and with children and young people within South Lanarkshire/Lanarkshire alongside the Corporate Parenting Partnership. This includes providing engagement and participation opportunities throughout the Who Cares? Scotland local and national network, as well as meeting with care experienced children and young people to introduce the service in agreement with the local authority. Raising awareness of Who Cares? Scotland and its services with children, young people, professionals, and carers you will also be responsible for facilitating training amongst care corporate parents, including schools.

The right candidate for this post will be able to form positive relationships with children and young people and have good interpersonal skills. You will feel confident communicating with individuals and groups, both in writing and verbally, and be able to adapt to a wide range of contexts. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced practitioner with a deep knowledge and understanding of children’s learning and development as well as the challenges facing our families across our communities.

This rewarding role will support and coordinate a small childcare team within a childcare setting as well as provide support to individual children aged 0-3 years within their homes who have require support in their physical, social and emotional skills and are experiencing attachment difficulties such as separation anxieties.

As well as supporting individual children to reach their full potential, this role will enable parents to be individually supported to gain a better understanding of their children’s needs empowering them to improve their children’s development by using strategies and activities that they can incorporate within their daily lives.

This role will also support the Team Manager of the centre to develop a broad range of learning activities which are specific to the needs of vulnerable children and their families

Minimum Qualifications required are: HNC Childcare and Education, SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) , HNC Childhood Practice or relevant childcare qualification

AND

Minimum practice experience: 3 years’ in a similar role

A certificate in Food Handling and First Aid are also desirable.
