Do you have the skills to engage with young people and support them to reach their maximum
potential?
“Our purpose is to provide a positive, life-changing experience for young people through individual care,
education and skills development”.
This is an exciting time to join the team at The Good Shepherd Centre (GSC) as we seek to build on its strong
reputation for relational based practice and helping young people to build hope, skills and plans for their
future. At GSC we have embarked on a journey with new strategic goals which are ambitious for our young people
and the ways we want to change and develop our services.
GSC offers secure care, close support & semi-independent living services; education service and health and
wellbeing support for vulnerable children, young people & young adults 12 to 17 years of age.
GSC offers children, young people, and young adults a safe, nurturing, and caring environment set in fabulous grounds
with a garden wildlife trail and outdoor sports facility.
An opportunity has arisen to join our Education team as a Classroom Assistant on a full-time, term-time, permanent
basis. The role is based at our GSC secure campus outside of Bishopton.
The Classroom Assistant will promote effective learning & teaching in all classes under the direction and
supervision of the Principal & Class Teachers. You will uphold and promote the ethos and values of the
Centre.
We are seeking to appoint a caring, child-centred, hard-working, and resilient individual with a motivation to be a
positive role model and make a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. Whether you have experience
working in social care or education, or are looking for a change in career, we would love to hear from you.
Through ensuring that the work is in keeping with legislative, procedural, and good practice requirements and
guidance, the overall focus of the role is to build trusting relationships with young people within a nurturing,
stimulating and safe environment. You will work as part of a team to support young people to meet their needs,
achieve their goals and build hope for their future.
