You’ll be joining Changeworks at a very exciting time as we’ve recently launched a new strategy to help us scale our work and achieve our mission of decarbonising Scottish homes. As the Energy Consultant (Retrofit) you will have to make a telling contribution to decarbonisation strategies for registered social landlords. This will make a telling contribution to decarbonising Scotland’s social housing at scale.

You will support and develop our Net-Zero Pathways service through retrofit assessment and modelling that focuses on whole house retrofit solutions. You will have a solid understanding of domestic building health, domestic building fabric, energy efficiency interventions and domestic low-carbon heating, as well as ventilation. You will also be able to engage with different audiences and be capable of writing reports for social landlords. Experience in using Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP) modelling would be advantageous, however we will provide full training to the right candidate.

ACE IT Scotland is a successful and growing Edinburgh-based charity. We provide free coaching and support to people over 50 to help them access everything the digital world can offer.

Working out of our city-centre office, we have a small team of employees and a larger bank of volunteers who provide most of our services. These include 1:1 coaching, group sessions, information services, and Moose-in-the-Hoose activity groups within local care homes. Demand for our services continues to grow. The recent Covid restrictions reinforced just how important digital technology is for the wellbeing, connectivity and active involvement of older people.

We have plans and resources in place to move ahead with our strategy of delivering our core services, seeking to help more people in more areas, and exploring more transformational opportunities longer-term.

Our trustees serve for a maximum of six years. Routine turnover means we're now looking for new trustees to join our Board. The current Board of six trustees meets four to five times a year, normally in person. In between the formal Board meetings, trustees will serve on one or more of six sub-committees which take a more detailed view of the operation. Extensive use is made of remote meetings and online collaboration tools.

Changeworks is looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to help us support an ever-growing organisation. You may already be working in HR or looking for a chance to join a busy HR team at assistant level. You will support the provision of an excellent HR service to Changeworks, maintaining a high standard of administration and assisting with a wide range of HR activities and projects, such as:

• Recruitment and onboarding
• HR archiving
• Wider organisational support

Previous HR experience will be an advantage, but we will also consider applications from talented general administrators who can explain transferable skills. You will be a confident communicator, with a commitment to equality and diversity and a keen interest in helping people. If you are motivated and a great team player with strong organisational skills, this is the role for you.

We will start to grow your knowledge of our HR policies and processes straight away. You will have on the job training and shadowing of other team members. Due to the nature of the role, training will be ongoing to ensure you are kept up to date with policy and process developments. This will be a hybrid role, based in our Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the office around 2 days per week in line with the HR team plan, although this may change from week to week. This role will provide development opportunities and a clear route for progression within the team.

What does the Service provide?

Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership have commissioned an exciting new service in the North East of the City to work alongside families in a flexible and strengths based way to help them achieve positive outcomes.

As part of a city-wide strategy, the service will promote the wellbeing of children and young people and to support them to stay at home and thrive with their families within their local communities by offering the right support at the right time.

Job Description

Our shared vision is to support children and young people to live with their parents and brothers and sisters, or where this is in the best interest of children, with their extended family, enabling them to grow up in their community with their friends, and attend their local school. The Family Support Practitioner will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with families to support and enable positive change and to improve outcomes. You'll join a team with an opportunity to work supporting and empowering families to achieve positive outcomes.

An assessment of need will be undertaken to identify needs, strengths and challenges that each family faces, the interventions will be based on expressed family needs and goals and will include advice, guidance, parenting support, 1:1 work with children and liaising with partner agencies. The post holder will carry out assessments, planned support and reviews and support families to overcome barriers. Working as part of a team, you will attend meetings and work alongside partner agencies, advocating on behalf of children and families.

Person Specification

• SVQ 3 in social care or HNC equivalent.
• Post qualification experience of working with children, young people and families and achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and intervention.
• Outreach/lone working experience.
• Experience of working with vulnerable families and a broad understanding of their barriers.
• Knowledge and experience of implementing methods of assessment and interventions.
• Understanding of safeguarding.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and through presentations.
• Experience of developing multidisciplinary support plans.
• Organised and systematic approach to monitoring and reporting
• Ability to work with people at all levels internally and externally
• The drive and initiative to work independently
