The Green Action Trust is one of Scotland’s leading environmental charities. We have been regenerating Central Scotland by undertaking landscape scale projects; creating and improving greenspaces, planting and managing woodlands, greening vacant and derelict land, creating and maintaining paths and enhancing a range of habitats for over 40 years. We are specifically responsible for delivering the Central Scotland Green Network. We are passionate about the positive environmental and social change we can deliver in Scotland and are seeking candidates who have a similar passion to help us create this change.

The role involves working in partnership with other organisations, developing new work, overseeing a programme of projects, and managing a team of staff.

Applications are sought from individuals with:

• Relevant qualifications and experience within the environmental sector.
• Excellent knowledge of how positive land use change can help tackle climate change and biodiversity loss.
• A track record of developing programmes and projects by working collaboratively with others.
• Proven project management skills.
• Experience of line management and capacity planning.
• Good working knowledge of the current funding available for environmental project work in Scotland and experience in securing and managing significant funding packages.
• Experience of financial planning and budgeting.
• A positive, solution orientated and flexible attitude to their work.
• Professional membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.

All positions advertised are offered on a permanent, full-time basis (although part-time and flexible working arrangements will be considered) and will involve hybrid working, based from our office in Shotts, North Lanarkshire. Travel within Scotland will be required, therefore a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

The Brock is a charity and social enterprise in Broxburn, West Lothian. We believe in a society where every individual with a mental health condition feels included, supported and valued. The Brock offers stimulating opportunities to socialise, build friendships, have a sense of belonging and increase confidence. We are based in a boutique garden centre, which includes the community Mind Garden, wood workshop and craft room. Where we offer oppertunities to learn new skills in horticulture, woodwork, landscaping projects and a variety of crafts.

We are now seeking a facilitator to join our team. The tasks are very varied, and for the first year the postholder will have a split focus between outreach and supporting the garden centre.

Having the right mind-set, attitude and approach is as important to us as having the right experience and qualifications.

We will ask the successful candidate to complete a level 3 Understanding Mental Health course. Occasional weekend working is required. When appropriate, you will drive the project vehicle.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to obtain membership of the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.

The role of Development Manager is to work with the Board of Trustees and staff of Thurso Community Development Trust on the design, development and delivery of multiple projects operated by the Charity as outlined in the Strategic Plan to make Thurso a better place to live, work and visit. The role of Development Manager is central to the organisation developing projects for onward operational delivery by staff and representing Thurso Community Development Trust with key stakeholders. The Trust is a forward thinking and proactive organisation with ambitions towards further community ownership of assets in the community including a Community Hub and taking an enterprising yet evidence led approach to sustainable community development.
