Home-Start UK is the leading family charity with trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children in communities across the UK. We are an umbrella organisation of circa 55 staff that works closely with our network of 184 local Home-Starts – all independent, registered charities.
We recognise that being a parent has never been easy. Every Home-Start volunteer is trained to work alongside parents to overcome the challenges they are facing. We work with parents to build on their strengths and give them the support that they tell us they need. We offer no judgement – just compassionate, confidential help and expert support. This peer-to-peer support is key to the difference Home-Start makes and often our volunteers have lived experience of the challenges their families are facing themselves.
About the role:
We are seeking a colleague who will bring their expertise and understanding of support for children and their families along with knowledge of the developing evidence base. We’d like a colleague who is passionate about early years, early support for families, who can see the whole family view and is an advocate for inclusion, rights and equity. We also need a compassionate leader, ready to build a team of expert practitioners and who can work across our organisation to contribute to our success and the wider sector to influence change.
The role presents a significant opportunity for the successful candidate and for Home-Start to achieve our ambitions for children and their families, to influence real change and to ensure that all families have access to the support they need in their community, when they need it.

About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide inspirational regional team leadership for designated Regional and Area Associations and local volunteers. In this role, you will drive the delivery of outstanding member benefits, sports, and leisure events at a local level using member insight gathered from local members.
Responsibilities:
At CSSC, we must ensure that our offer, both locally and nationally, provides our members with a great experience and enables them to do the things they love. To help us achieve this, you will:
• Support volunteers in delivering a regional and local programme aligned with CSSC's strategy, mission, vision, and values.
• Use the local member insight to deliver what our members are looking for, as well as introduce them to new opportunities and activities.
• Ensure adherence to operating processes, framework, and legislation.
• Enhance volunteer skills and experiences, celebrate volunteering, and attract new volunteers to CSSC.
• Collaborate with the Regional Chair and volunteers to monitor progress, attend local meetings, and evaluate the delivery of activities and events.
• Foster effective networking and collaboration across the team, champion best practice and seek out new ideas and ways of doing things.
• Attract, recruit, and induct new volunteers to ensure confidence and excellent service provision for our members.
• Ensure key volunteering roles have potential successors, retaining and developing the services and commitment of volunteers with CSSC.

Key Skills & Experience: Essential
• Minimum of 3 years relevant volunteer management experience.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Full UK driving license (travel required).
Desirable
• A relevant degree or professional qualification in volunteer management (not essential but advantageous).
• Experience with building and working with high-performing teams.
• Working knowledge of CRM and digital Event Management Systems.

CHSS Health Information and eLearning Clinical Lead

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Hospital to Home services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.
As the CHSS Health Information and eLearning Clinical Lead you will be responsible for the clinical oversight of all CHSS Health Information and eLearning resources, including the development and clinical management of new resources which have attracted funding.
The post holder will collaborate with the appropriate internal and external professionals and advisory groups ensure that the content of all preexisting and new resources remain current, and evidence based.

The Head of Counselling has a key role:
- Managing and delivering counselling service.
- Ensuring robust governance of the service.
- Working with the church leadership team to ensure there is strong interface with other church ministries and that the counselling service is integral part of its vision and strategy
The Counselling Service is a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors and adheres to their statement of faith and code of conduct.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Lead and manage Ps & Gs Counselling Service.
- Manage Counselling Staff team.
- Oversee a team of volunteer counsellors.
- Provide support and guidance to both qualified and student counsellors.
- Ensure all qualified and student counsellors receive required level of supervision.
- Offer supervision as appropriate.
- Hold a personal caseload.
- Plan a programme of CPD for the team.
- Take the professional lead in reviewing/updating counselling policies and practices.
- Lead and supervise the development and implementation of all operational business plans and service improvement.
- Lead on the recruitment and induction of volunteer trainee and qualified counsellors and volunteer receptionists.
- Attend staff prayers and other staff meetings each week and establish working relationships with the wider staff team.
- Report annually to Vestry.
- You will be responsible for the budgets for the counselling service, under the direction of the Finance Team.
- Ensure team have regular safeguarding training and all safeguarding guidelines are followed.
- Follow GDPR guidelines and ensure IT is used responsibly, including safe storage and appropriate retention of client information.
- With the Support of the Counselling Advisory group, ensure a pattern of review for governance, best practice, guidance and procedures.
