The Service

Lauriston in Leith is a twenty four hour, seven day a week supported accommodation based in the Leith area of Edinburgh. We work with women who are homeless with a variety of support needs including substance misuse and mental health issues and are a registered Housing Support Service.

The Role

As a Support Worker you will:

  • Support individuals who are presently homeless with their individual support needs
  • Maintain independence skills; following interests and hobbies
  • Deal with mail and welfare benefits system
  • Support to bid for own tenancy; future planning; assisting to access furniture packages

You Will

  • Be confident in dealing with a homeless client group
  • Have compassion and understanding for the issues homeless individuals face
  • Hold an SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or demonstrate the ability and willingness to undertake this qualification
  • Be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of taking up the post
