The Head of Finance, Governance and Risk provides all accounting and financial management for the Trust. The post-holder has overall responsibility for Carnegie UK’s systems of financial control and supports the CEO on financial and investment strategy and planning. They also support the Finance Committee (comprised of Trustees and two co-opted members with investment expertise), the Audit and Risk Committee, and the wider Board of Trustees, and act as the first point of contact for the Investment Manager and the auditors.
The role includes responsibility for leading on the organisation’s approach to identifying, assessing and managing corporate risk, and for advising on formal and regulatory aspects of our governance. The Head of Finance, Governance and Risk is a key member of Carnegie UK’s Senior Management Team, reporting to the CEO. As such, the postholder will take an active role in forward planning and decision making within the organisation and will be expected to act as a role model for our values and ways of working.

- Investments - management and stewardship of the capital and income of the Trust

- Governance – the operational approach to all governance matters
- Risk – embedding risk evaluation

We are looking for an experienced finance professional for this important role. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and be required to take initiative and work independently. We are seeking the following attributes:

We are looking for an ambitious, driven, and passionate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead, who can operate at both a strategic and operational level, to lead further development and delivery of our Connect service.

You will lead our Connect training and development, consultancy and advice service, ensuring it is financially sustainable and effectively positioned in the market, in line with the organisational vision, goals and values. You will design, plan, deliver, commission and manage the Connect service offering which will include relevant training programmes, workshops, bespoke consultancy support as well as resources supporting provision of high-quality advice and guidance.
This is initially a standalone position with the potential to build a small team.
You will have proven experience of working in an EDI role and of designing, delivering, implementing and evaluating training. With excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills, you will be highly self-motivated and demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude.
This is a full time position, but we’re happy to discuss flexible working.
About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide inspirational regional team leadership for designated Regional and Area Associations and local volunteers. In this role, you will drive the delivery of outstanding member benefits, sports, and leisure events at a local level using member insight gathered from local members.
Responsibilities:
At CSSC, we must ensure that our offer, both locally and nationally, provides our members with a great experience and enables them to do the things they love. To help us achieve this, you will:
• Support volunteers in delivering a regional and local programme aligned with CSSC's strategy, mission, vision, and values.
• Use the local member insight to deliver what our members are looking for, as well as introduce them to new opportunities and activities.
• Ensure adherence to operating processes, framework, and legislation.
• Enhance volunteer skills and experiences, celebrate volunteering, and attract new volunteers to CSSC.
• Collaborate with the Regional Chair and volunteers to monitor progress, attend local meetings, and evaluate the delivery of activities and events.
• Foster effective networking and collaboration across the team, champion best practice and seek out new ideas and ways of doing things.
• Attract, recruit, and induct new volunteers to ensure confidence and excellent service provision for our members.
• Ensure key volunteering roles have potential successors, retaining and developing the services and commitment of volunteers with CSSC.

PRINCIPAL ROLE:
As a key member of the Fundraising Team, the post holder is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a fundraising strategy to retain and increase income from charitable Trusts and Foundations against agreed targets.
Key tasks for which the post holder will be responsible.
- To achieve and surpass the trust's fundraising target.
- To secure income through active engagement and positive relationship management with charitable Trusts and Foundations
- To create and maintain current, accurate portfolios of all Trusts and Foundations ensuring regular communication and contact to sustain long-term relationships.
- Research and explore new opportunities to approach charitable Trusts and Foundations including time to approach, key contacts application method, and areas of interest.
- Collate all relevant information and produce high-quality funding applications that are engaging and accurate
- To work closely with the CEO to identify suitable projects for funding and monitor income against forecast
- Ensure a high standard of data capture on Excel and that donors are thanked appropriately
- Reporting and evaluating on grants received by the organisation and ensuring the conditions of any gift is adhered to
- Any other relevant duties as may be required.

- Attend relevant internal and external meetings, contributing to the planning and development process
- Manage the requirements of existing and potential donors and supporters and manage the development of relationships with key donors and supporters
- To actively consider professional development and determine training requirements.
