The Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre Perth & Kinross are looking for a highly motivated and committed worker with experience of providing therapeutic support to join our team. This post involves the provision of therapeutic support, information and advocacy services for survivors age 12+ and their family members. Experience of delivering emotional therapeutic, practical support and advocacy services to women and/ young people affected by trauma is essential, alongside experience of assessing and responding to risk in relation to sexual abuse and exploitation. RASAC P&K welcome applications from women of all backgrounds and identities, in particular women of colour and those underrepresented in the workforce. Our DAYS Service supports all young people of any gender aged between 8 and 18 who live in Dundee or Angus and have experienced any type of sexual abuse.

We take a flexible approach to planning support to best meet the needs of the young person, this can be school, home, community or at our office. We offer a variety of support for young people and are led by the individual.

1:1 Support - We offer emotional support to survivors. Each session is a safe and confidential space for survivors to process the trauma they have experienced at their own pace. We do this by using a range of therapeutic interventions and tools which are survivor centred.

Group work support - We various creative groups and peer support groups all of which aims to reduce isolation and extend social circles. The aim of these are to build survivors support networks and build survivors confidence, reducing isolation and feelings of blame and shame.

We are seeking an individual who demonstrates a knowledge of the impact of trauma on young people and age-appropriate support tools / methods and can provide and has significant experience of providing trauma-based models of support to young survivors.

Do you have experience of working with vulnerable children & young people? Are you passionate with the energy to provide high quality individual and group support for children who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse? Are you able to demonstrate a flexible, practical and positive approach to working with children and young people? Do you have an understanding and awareness of domestic abuse and a reflective, sensitive, non-judgmental approach? Can you work in a way that promotes equality and empowerment? Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a part-time worker to provide advice, advocacy, support and services to children, young people and families who have experienced domestic abuse. Applicants should have experience of providing support in a relevant social care setting.

The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in childcare or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as flexible hours to suit the needs of families. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).
