Role

About Edinburgh Food Project

Edinburgh Food Project was established in 2012 with the aim of reducing the effects of food poverty in Edinburgh by providing emergency food parcels to those in the community most in need. Over the last three years, we have been transitioning our 7 foodbank centres into “More than Food” hubs to allow our clients to access dedicated support to help them with their immediate and underlying problems to reduce/eliminate their need for food bank assistance and build their financial resilience for the future.

Edinburgh Food Project are now going through a period of change, developing their strategy to reflect the Scottish Government Consultation: Ending the need for foodbanks, and the Poverty Commission’s Report, A Just Capital.

This is a new and exciting Senior Management role. As Edinburgh Food Project go through a period of change, you will be responsible for operational management, planning and compliance of our growing client services.

The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting an organisation that provides all-round support to the community and vulnerable people in need. They will bring significant service management experience at a senior manager level and be experienced at managing a diverse team of people and leading during a time of change. In addition, they will have excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be hands on and proactive and willing to be part of a small but supportive team, working closely with the Director to ensure the sustainability of the organisation.
