Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland’s only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Our mission is to secure a lifetime of equality, respect, and love for Care Experienced people in Scotland and we currently have over 3500 Care Experienced members.

At the heart of Who Cares? Scotland’s work are the rights of Care Experienced people and the power of their voices to bring about positive change. We provide individual lifelong independent advocacy and a range of connection and participation opportunities for Care Experienced people across Scotland. We work alongside Corporate Parents and others to broaden understanding and challenge the stigma experienced by Care Experienced people. We create opportunities for people with lived experience of care to influence policy makers, leaders, and elected representatives locally and nationally to shape legislation, policy and practice. We do this collaboratively to build on the aspirations of The Promise and secure positive change.

The postholder will have a key role in building and supporting a successful volunteer network, supporting, shaping and delivering a volunteer programme across the organisation, whilst working as part of the national volunteer staff team. The postholder have significant experience of coordinating the work of volunteers including recruitment, selection, training, support and retention.

The right candidate for this post will work effectively with others and independently. They will have a sound knowledge of current research and recommendations relating to volunteer issues, be a highly effective communicator and be well organised. They will have the ability to build positive relationships, and be strongly committed to the work of Who Cares? Scotland and our aims.

The post holder will be required to be flexible and work some evening and weekends to meet volunteer related operational needs. There will be opportunities to work from home, but there will be a requirement for the post holder to be based in our Glasgow office.
