Role
Community Lifestyles was created in the 1990s to offer individualised support to the growing number of people with more complex needs who were leaving long-stay institutions. Working in a consortium arrangement with Key in Glasgow, Community Lifestyles now works alongside disabled people, a number of whom have complex communication and health needs, supporting them to live good lives in their own homes and communities across the city.
We are looking for someone who has facilitated training or supported learning in a social care setting. As an enthusiastic individual committed to ongoing learning and development, joining our well-established management and development team in Glasgow, you will:
- have experience of working with disabled people in a social care setting
- deliver core induction and ongoing training to ensure staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality, person centred support
- as a member of our Positive Behaviour Support Team, provide human rights-based training and guidance to managers and teams working alongside individuals with complex support needs to achieve their unique outcomes
- have a Social Care Qualification at SVQ level 3 or above
- have a flexible approach, prioritising and responding to service needs, including an element of working outside of ‘normal office hours’

This is a term time role
As part of the care and school staff team you will support the coordination and delivery of the learning and care of children and/or young people with a range of visual impairments and additional complex needs in different learning and care environments by providing a safe and high-quality environment in which children and/or young people will thrive.

Glasgow Association for Mental Health is one of the principal providers of community mental health services in Greater Glasgow. GAMH is committed to the principles of recovery and raising awareness and understanding of mental health issues.
TheYoung Adult Wellbeing Service (YAWS) is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. The service supports the mental wellbeing of young people aged 16-25 experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. YAWS will support the delivery of mental health and wellbeing group sessions (digital and face to face) to enable young people to be connected and socially active in the community.

The Head of Services will work as part of the Senior Management Team for Cosgrove Care with a key focus on the design, delivery, and development of high quality services which are fully compliant with regulatory bodies and meet and exceed expected standards. The Head of Services will lead key members of operational staff to deliver against the strategy, ensuring efficient, effective and person centred supports are provided. The post holder will work with the Corporate Management Team (CMT) to develop and implement a clear strategic direction for Cosgrove which includes developing new service models, securing outcomes focused provision and supporting the diversification of income. The development of innovative approaches to practice is key to this role. So too is engaging and developing a high performing operational team.
Essential skills and experience
- Educated in a relevant discipline with extensive experience at a managerial level within the Third and/or Public Sector.
- Extensive knowledge of current legislation and policy in Scotland as it relates to child and adult social care.
- Experience of working at a senior level and designing and implementing strategy with a track record of success
- Clear understanding of the Scottish regulatory environment and delivering high performing services which meet and exceed standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of implementing quality management systems and driving up organisational standards
- Extensive knowledge of supervision and management of a diverse staff team.
- Experience of appraisal and staff development.
- Experience of service evaluation and review.
- Experience of developing and managing budgets and of designing reporting mechanisms for both financial and operational activity.
- Knowledge of the principles of person centred support and a strong commitment to the UNCRC
- Excellent self-organising and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, juggle tasks and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines with the minimum of supervision.

The Chef is responsible for planning and preparing a varied and nutritious diet for service users attending the Centre in a welcoming and safe environment.
The Chef leads the kitchen team and works alongside the Deputy Centre Manager to ensure all menu items are prepared within budget as set.
What we want you to be responsible and accountable for
- Provide high quality food for service users within the agreed budget
- Plan menus in conjunction with management team and taking into account;
- Specific dietary requirements

- Direct and deploy staff in preparation and serving of the menu offering.
- Provide training to expected standards and quality of general food preparation, cleaning, health & safety requirements, particularly regarding the operation of equipment, and Food Safety
- Source, order, receive, and check quality and invoice of stock.
- Prepare and cook meals on a daily basis.
- Ensure all recipes are up to date and being followed by staff.
- Ensure proper storage and labelling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleaning schedules.
- Liaise with manager/ deputy manager with regard to any additional catering requirements such as for large meetings or functions.
- Ensure Food Hygiene and Health and Safety recommendations are complied with.

- Report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to standard through normal cleaning procedures.

- Deal with unsatisfactory performance and conduct of staff.
