Role
CEA operates an integrated 3 stage trauma recovery model and whilst all staff are at times expected to work across these areas, the particular focus of this post is Stage One Prison Support. The purpose of which is to provide young people, women and men awareness of domestic abuse and support them to build an asset-based pathway to healing, therefore building resilience and emotional strength to reduce risk of re-offending on liberation, minimise harm and enable recovery from trauma.
The “Just Breathe” Domestic abuse prison support currently offers unique services: -
- Full support – offered to those who are in custody for 8 weeks or more
- 4S (Safety, Stabilisation, Signposting, Support) – offered to those who are in custody for less than 8 weeks)
- SPEAK service – offered to those exhibiting controlling behaviours within relationships
- Touch Base Service – Offered to those who require extended support
The Support Worker will provide support to anyone in custody who have experienced/are experiencing domestic abuse. The post holder will require to be flexible to respond to the demands of all other prison support services provided by CEA.
Key to the role will be both the provision of an effective domestic abuse support service as well as supporting service users to engage with relevant SPS officers/services and throughcare providers to support their individual needs by enhancing their independence, integrate effectively in the community and reduce the risk of re-offending on liberation.
Support to service-users will be offered through one to one and group support.

We are looking for one full time (35-hour post Mon-Friday 9-4.30pm) and one part time (28 hour post Tuesday – Friday 9.4.30pm)
This role focusses on offering practical and emotional support to children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. Support is offered to children and young people who are living in our safe accommodation and on an outreach capacity. A critical part of the role also includes providing groupwork and childcare support to enable women to attend our recovery focused programmes. The preferred candidate(s) will have at least 2 years’ experience working with children and young people and casework experience. The successful candidate(s) must be a driver with access to their own vehicle and should have an SVQ level 3 (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification.

The successful candidate(s) will have at least 2 years of experience in a role where you have supported vulnerable clients. You will also hold an SVQ 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent or be willing to undertake this upon completion of your probationary period.
Glasgow Women’s Aid provides information, support and temporary accommodation for women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. We have refuge accommodation, follow on services and outreach services both for women and children across Glasgow.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that all of our sites are maintained to a good standard of repair and decoration. We have several refuge sites across Glasgow and you will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance work gets carried out. You will carry out minor DIY tasks yourself such as building flat pack furniture, fitting curtains and hanging pictures so that our properties are ready for families to move in. You will provide support where special cleans are required and ensure that there is adequate stock of everything we need to make refuge a home. This is a very busy role and the successful candidate will have great customer service skills and a proactive attitude. As we have several sites it is essential that you have a drivers license to drive our van.
Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a full-time support worker to join our Women’s Support Team.
Candidates should have good communication skills and a passion for supporting recovery from domestic abuse.
The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in health and social care or other relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).
