- Reports to: Andrew Magowan (Link Up Programme Manager). Fund: Link Up. Full time (35 hrs), contracted until 31 March 2023, with opportunities beyond this subject to funding. Role

About Forres Area Community Trust (FACT)
FACT is a thriving third sector organisation that aims to make Forres a great place to live, work and visit. We follow the principles of sustainable development and our objects are to:
- advance citizenship and community development
- advance and protect the environment, culture and heritage
- advance education and lifelong learning for the benefit of the general public
FACT runs a number of projects to further these objects. FACT also owns Forres Town Hall, which is the base for these projects and a range of different activities offered by other user groups and organisations. Our next major step, having purchased Forres Town Hall through a Capital Asset Transfer, is to secure its long-term future through a major refurbishment programme and we are currently raising funds for this.
Post Aim:
- To manage the delivery of the strategic vision of the Forres Area Community Trust.
Main Duties
- To deliver FACT’s Business Plan and promote, plan, resource, implement, monitor and evaluate its projects and work streams, including the development of revenue streams to support FACT’s short and long-term objectives.
- To work with the local community to promote and support local projects within the aims of the Forres Area Community Trust.

Established thirty years ago as a partnership between the Community Development Foundation and the University of Glasgow, SCDC became an independent charity in Scotland in 2009, designated as the lead national organisation for community development.
Over the past decade and more, we have worked hard to establish ourselves as an authority on community development theory and practice. We work with and alongside communities and with community practitioners, and we use the knowledge and experience we gain to help shape national policy.
Purpose of the post
We are now looking for a new Director to help lead SCDC into its next decade of development. If you are passionate about community development, democracy, social justice and community empowerment, this is your opportunity to make a difference to people and communities across Scotland.
You will be knowledgeable about the policy and practice environment for community development in Scotland and experienced in running an organisation with multiple funding streams and an income generation model. You will be skilled in leading a team to deliver on our mission and in working with the Board of Directors to implement our strategic vision. You will have highly developed communication skills and you will be comfortable in working with a range of different stakeholders.
Adviser – Community Ownership Support Service

Are you interested in supporting ambitious community groups take assets into community ownership? Do you have experience of supporting organisations at difference stages of their development? This could include community engagement, organisational development, governance, feasibility/ business planning or financial advice.
Due to internal promotion, we are looking for an Adviser to join our team and contribute to the development and delivery of the Community Ownership Support Service, in particular supporting community transfer, acquisition and development of assets – land and buildings.
This post will cover the Highlands & Islands and North East, with travel throughout the country.
Community Links Scotland is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic individual to help develop and lead on our new Energy Advice programme, supporting communities across West Dunbartonshire. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund this programme will support local people who are in fuel crises by providing direct practical help and advocacy to vulnerable households. This project is a new opportunity for both us and our local Housing Association partners.
We are ideally looking for an individual who has experience in providing energy advice and advocacy to households; or someone who has experience of advocating on behalf of vulnerable households and would be willing to undertake a City & Guilds L3 qualification in Energy Advice (CLS will cover this cost).
CLS is a small organisation with a dedicated staff team of six. We have an excellent reputation in developing and delivering projects for our Housing Association clients and across the West of Scotland. While we are based in Clydebank, we operate very flexibly, with staff working across a number of venues – Community Hubs, Clients Offices, home and office – we anticipate that this post will work within all of these venues and will also undertake a number of home visits, as these are essential to the delivery of the project.
