Role

Do you dream about a more rewarding career? One with hybrid working, job permanence and career development? One where you make a real difference to people’s lives while also helping to tackle the climate change emergency? Then why not become a Home Energy Scotland advisor employed by Changeworks, Scotland’s leading environmental charity delivering solutions for low carbon living?

As an advisor at the Home Energy Scotland Highlands and Islands advice centre, you’ll give people crucial support to get through the growing energy crisis. You’ll be the first point of call for householders who need free and impartial advice about how they can lower their bills and reduce their environmental impact. You’ll also be at the forefront of Changeworks’ mission to make low carbon living a reality across Scotland. At a time when climate change is the most significant threat to the environment and our way of life, this is an important role that delivers real job satisfaction.

Joining the Home Energy Scotland team at Changeworks means you become part of an exciting and innovative organisation that really cares about its employees. You’ll receive full training plus the coaching and mentoring you need to gain qualifications that will provide a platform for career development and growth. What’s more, as an Investors in People Platinum status holder, we offer an excellent range of staff benefits including flexible working, hybrid working, a bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus nine public holidays per year. You’ll get a day off for your birthday too!

We are looking for an energy advisor who has the drive and enthusiasm to help us achieve our vision of getting Scotland to decarbonise. Someone who has the skills to influence and educate householders on how to live and work in the most energy efficient way possible. This means advising people across the Highlands and Islands over the telephone, via digital channels and at events.

You must have experience of engaging with customers and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the ability to relay technical information to a non-technical audience. You will also need good IT skills and the ability to multitask.

You will join a friendly and social team of customer focused energy advisors in a fast-paced environment, taking inbound calls and making outbound calls to our existing customers. An interest in the environment and sustainability would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

If you have what it takes to become a Home Energy Scotland advisor and make a real difference to the lives of people in the Highlands and Islands, apply today. Together, we can create a world where everyone is able to live, work and enjoy life with a low carbon impact.
