Role

DRC Generations is a Mentor, Transition and Support Service established initially in 2006 as the Dumbarton Road Corridor (DRC) Addiction Forum, changing our name to DRC (just DRC) Generations in 2012, based in Scotstoun operating mainly within NW Glasgow delivering a successful programme of Peer Education through Mentoring and Buddying, generic Youth work and Family (Community) Support.

Main Duties:

The post requires the successful candidate to work within an established programme of Peer led activities including Youth Work and Peer Education, supporting young people to achieve appropriate accreditation for their involvement and participation.

As the Youth/Buddy Support Assistant you will be assisting the Managing Director with the Buddy Mentoring Programme and Generic youth Work this will include supporting our Buddy Mentors/Trainers with recruitment, training, and accreditation of new Buddies, both face to face and online through zoom.

Working with our youth group providing youth activities indoor and outdoor working with a range of partners operating with Northwest Glasgow.

The post requires someone who is flexible, highly motivated and works well on their own and as part of a team. An understanding of youth work, non-judgemental with an excepting open attitude towards young people. The successful candidate with be assisting and supporting staff, young people, and volunteers with the ongoing development of Youth, Buddy Mentor Programme and Intergenerational work and will require PVG enhance Disclosure Check.
