Role

Introduction:This is a new and exciting project developing Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid services to children and young people across Glasgow. We are currently seeking to recruit 3 Children & Young People Support workers who will be based in the Northeast locality, Northwest locality, and South locality.

Role:You will provide support to children and young people with experience of domestic abuse in school or a safe place within the locality.

About Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid:Established in 1981, Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid is Scotland’s first feminist women’s aid project providing refuge accommodation, outreach, and follow-on services to women, children, and young people primarily from the Asian Black and Minority Ethnic community experiencing domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour-based abuse. All staff are expected to promote equality and anti-discriminatory practices working with women, children, and young people primarily from the Asian, Black, and Minority Ethnic community experiencing domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour-based abuse.

Qualification:SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF level 7 or HNC Childhood Practice (desirable). Training will be provided to obtain SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF level 7 or HNC Childhood Practice.

Funder:Glasgow City Council, Community Fund, fixed term to March 2026
