Night Project Worker Chalmers Court Ayr

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the right values to join our service assisting and supporting vulnerable homeless people to achieve better lives.

Typical length of shifts are 8 hours commencing at 23:00 and finishing at 07:00. There are good opportunities for overtime and development due to the part-time status of this position.

You will have an HNC or SVQ3 qualification in social care. Other essentials include: experience of working with vulnerable people, addiction issues and challenging behaviour; effective written and verbal communication; knowledge of homelessness issues; and, above all, the determination to make a difference in the lives of our service users.

The successful candidate will report to Management, be expected to work as part of a team to support and ensure the welfare of service users and building security. They will provide a person centred support covering practical, emotional and personal issues.

Their responsibilities will include completing paperwork, recording onto Better Futures therefore a good knowledge of IT skills will be required, sign posting, assisting residents and preparing them for the move to permanent tenancies to sustain independent living.

If successful, you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of your start date. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified and to maintain professional learning.
