About Us
Ochil Tower School is an independent residential and day school for children and young people with additional support
needs. We are committed to promoting a nurturing, safe and fulfilling environment for the children and young
people that we support. Our ethos is based upon a social pedagogy model and the purpose of the role is to
recognise and build on the individual strengths of each pupil and use their interests to help them engage in
their learning.
This is an exciting time to join Ochil Tower School at a significant time of development for the school. 2018 was a
year of change as the school offered extended care provision and also started a new service for 18-21 year old
young adults within our Life Skills Centre. To help us in continuing this positive trajectory we are looking for
a bright and enthusiastic individual that shares our commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for children
and young people.
At Ochil Tower School we build relationships based on trust and we foster an interest in learning. Our aim is to
support and help with the development of social skills and to provide the optimum environment for living and
learning. We work alongside a whole range of supporting partners: parents, carers, social workers, educational
psychologists, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) specialists and others that form part of the
team around the child. We work according to social pedagogy principles. Our approach reflects a holistic and
relationshipcentred way of working in care and education, and our curriculum is a 24 hour one – there are always
opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
