Role

Venture Trust works with people experiencing complicated life circumstances. Through the provision of wilderness-based personal and social development programmes, we equip them with the confidence, motivation and core life skills that they need to make positive changes in their lives.

We are recruiting for a new Outreach Co-ordinator to join our team in the East Hub. Our Outreach Co-ordinators lead our Outreach Workers to deliver high quality personal development work with our participants, and are responsible for developing strong and effective partnership relationships across local authorities.

The successful candidate will plan and align staff deployment, undertake initial programme eligibility checks, carry out weekly caseload management assessments and oversee a range of personal development provision. Key to the role is developing strong networking and partnership links, to ensure appropriate referrals, Venture Trust delivery which meets the expectations of clients and referrers, and quality employability opportunities in the third phase of the programme. The Outreach Co-ordinator will also be responsible for supporting and line managing Outreach Workers across the East Hub regions and will work closely with wilderness journey teams to ensure effective co-ordination, delivery and review of all programmes.

Ideal candidates will have qualifications in youth work, community education or similar, or equivalent proven experience of guiding and supporting vulnerable and disaffected people. Knowledge and experience of delivering personal development work underpinned by approaches and techniques such as Experiential Learning, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy and Pro-Social Modelling is also essential, as is knowledge of the voluntary and statutory sectors in Scotland. Ideal candidates will have strong planning, co-ordination and time management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and contribute to strategic planning, along with experience of line management, motivating and supporting a staff team to deliver results. Please note that a driving license and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement of this role.

We offer a range of generous benefits including 28 days annual leave and 9 public and bank holiday days, flexible working and a joint contributory pension scheme. Venture Trust is committed to promoting equality and diversity in employment, and follows an equal opportunities policy.
