Scotland’s Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline

Scottish Women's Aid is the lead organisation in Scotland working towards ending domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women. We play a vital role in campaigning at national and international level and lobbying for effective responses to domestic abuse, including ensuring that women and children with experience of domestic abuse get the services they need when they need them.

Would you like to be part of supporting the delivery of a vital helpline service for people with experience of domestic abuse and forced marriage?

As a Call Handler you will provide confidential information and support to individuals and agencies who contact the Scotland’s Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline (SDAFMH).

With excellent communication skills and an understanding of domestic abuse, the post holder will need to be able to respond effectively and sensitively to calls from a wide range of people. You will have an understanding of the services available to support helpline callers, strong computer skills and demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative.

Scotland’s Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline operates on a 24/7 basis. The post holder will be required to work a varying shift pattern on a rota that includes day, back and night shift.

Successful applicants will be subject to a PVG check, paid by SWA.
