We are seeking to appoint a pool of as and when required Project Worker 2 staff to be part of our Barnardo's Forth Valley Services. You will be a highly motivated and committed practitioner, with the experience, skills and knowledge to support young people and families to achieve the best outcomes.
Barnardo's Forth Valley Services work in partnership with three Local Authorities – Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling and HMYOI Polmont, to deliver a wide range of services and interventions to children, young people and their families. In addition we have a number of primary and secondary school partnerships across Falkirk with the aim of closing the educational attainment gap before and beyond the school gates.
The Services across Forth Valley are located in both Stirling and Falkirk, but cover the geographical area of all three local authorities. Barnardo's offers a wide range of services and interventions to children and families across Forth Valley. Services include:
Providing support to young people and their families to enable them to remain within their own families, schools and communities
supporting young people and their families involved in a range of offending behaviour
supporting young people, women and their families within Polmont HM Young Offenders Institution
supporting young people and their families where there are concerns around substance and/or alcohol use
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to form consistent, positive and appropriate relationships with young people and their families. We are looking for individuals who are creative, with a strength-based and solution focussed approach to working with the most vulnerable children and families in Forth Valley. Experience in working with children and families who may have experienced trauma and/or are care experienced is desirable.
You will have a relevant qualification in education, youth work, health, social work or social care and an understanding of children's development in relation to attachment would be desirable.
You will be required to have a driving licence and access to a car and be able to work flexibly including evening and occasional weekend work.
You will have the opportunity to work across different Services in Forth Valley.
