REACH Lanarkshire Autism was established in March 2012 to bridge the gap in post diagnostic services throughout Lanarkshire. REACH is a parent led, pan Lanarkshire charity and currently has around 285 members.
We are looking to employ an Activity Co-ordinator whose responsibility it will be to set up new activities for our children and young people with Autism in both North and South Lanarkshire. These activities will be varied and will be community based to ensure easy access for our families. The Activity Co-ordinator will also provide support to staff in our current activities to ensure our children and young people are supported, having fun and making progress.
This is a full-time post which has been funded for one year by The National Lottery Community Fund’s Young Start programme. We would hope that the position will show a need for continued funding to extend the length of the contract.
Whilst it is desirable that the successful applicant is educated to degree level, the post holder must have knowledge and experience of working with people with Autism. Ideally, we would be keen to hear from people who have worked in a similar position and possess the necessary skills to provide support to both staff and service users. The post holder will be required to register with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
The post covers North and South Lanarkshire although the post holder will be based in our office in Cambuslang.
