The BIG Project is recruiting a Youth and Children’s Worker and is seeking a committed and experienced individual who brings energy and enthusiasm to join our team.
The Big Project, is a community based Youth and Children’s Project which supports children and young people, aged 5-18 years living in the Broomhouse Area of Edinburgh to learn, achieve, have fun and feel good about themselves. Delivering high quality provision to the children and young people of The Broomhouse area of South west Edinburgh for over 16 years The BIG Project is now an established and much valued resource with a good track record.
This post is initially offered for a fixed term of 3 years and is dependent thereafter on future funding being available.
Purpose of Job
The Youth and Children’s Worker will take a lead in developing and supporting The BIG Project’s community-based services to children and young people aged 5 – 18 years including a universal open-access youth and children’s work programme, targeted groupwork, and individual support.
They will be responsible for developing an innovative programme of exciting and attractive activities, including holiday provision and residentials as well as leading on both the consultation and evaluation of this work. They will also support the Sessional staff and Volunteers involved in these programmes.
