Role

Venture Trust works with people experiencing complicated life circumstances. Through the provision of wilderness-based personal and social development programmes, we equip them with the confidence, motivation and core life skills that they need to make positive changes in their lives.

We’ve an exciting opportunity for skilled trainers and employability workers with experience of working with disadvantaged groups within a welfare-to-work and employability focussed environment, to join our team in the roles of Employability Worker (East). The successful candidate will support the planning and lead the delivery of employability programmes for participants in their third stage of a Venture Trust programme, and for participants referred directly to our employability programmes. They will develop and manage external referral networks, ensuring efficient running of recruitment for programmes. Sessions will have a practical focus on group work, job search, skills acquisition and ongoing pastoral support to identify and remove barriers to employment and broker employability opportunities with external stakeholders.

Key to success in this role will be strong communication and relationship building skills, not only to deliver client work, but to liaise effectively with Outreach Worker colleagues to tailor session content to client need and seek and provide updates on progress. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to ensure thorough and accurate records are kept. Experience of development training and/or informal education and a degree in an appropriate field would also be advantageous, as would an SQA assessor qualification or experience in delivering the SQA Employability Award.

We offer a range of generous benefits including 28 days annual leave and 9 public and bank holiday days, flexible working and a joint contributory pension scheme.

Venture Trust is committed to promoting equality and diversity in employment, and follows an equal opportunities policy.
