Scottish Book Trust is looking for a Young Writers Programme Manager to lead on the delivery of the Young Writers programme and support the Head of Writing Communities to design and sustain the YW programme at a strategic level. The programme celebrates and nurtures the talent and ambition of young writers in Scotland, supporting and empowering participants to develop a national programme for their peers.
SBT is committed to working with young people from diverse backgrounds and the role involves outreach work across Scotland. The Young Writers Programme Manager develops and maintains key strategic relationships with charities, youth organisations, as well as other literature, arts and relevant organisations.
The Writing Communities programme supports writers of all backgrounds and abilities to fulfil their potential.
The post involves working with young people, therefore appointment requires PVG scheme membership for this post, which SBT will fund. The postholder is also required to be the organisation’s Designated Child Protection Officer and training will be facilitated for this, if required.
