Role

Due to the impending retirement of our current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) we are now seeking to appoint a new CEO to lead the organisation and provide strategic direction to its staff, volunteers and supporters.

SCMA is a membership organisation with 83% of Scotland’s childminders being members of SCMA. We are proud of the role we play in promoting childminding as a quality early learning and childcare service and helping our members be the best childminders they can be.

As CEO you will:

• Lead the staff team to deliver on strategic objectives as approved by the Board.

• Manage SCMA’s resources.

• Be the figurehead for childminding in Scotland.

• Advance the organisation’s position and reputation as Scotland’s leading membership organisation for childminding.

You will have effective and comprehensive leadership, management and communication skills, with experience of leading high performing teams. You will ideally be experienced in leading a membership organisation, dealing with the media and be a confident communicator and ambassador for SCMA. You will have the political and business acumen to lead and influence change to make a difference to the wellbeing and development of Scotland’s children.
