Harmeny Education Trust is a sector leading children’s charity providing therapeutic care and education for children with complex additional support needs, of primary up to early secondary age. Our core service, Harmeny School, is situated in the village of Balerno, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, with our beautiful thirty-five acre estate including a natural woodland, residential and education accommodation, community garden, orchard, wildlife habitats and a variety of play areas. The campus is easily accessible by bus and there is ample parking.

The Trust has reached a point in its 60-year history where there is real opportunity for growth and we require Fundraising & Communications Manager to lead the development of our fundraising and communications functions. A core element of this is a major fundraising appeal, with the aim of raising £2.4million in order to develop our residential care and learning facilities.

The postholder will have proven experience in raising significant funds and delivering effective communications strategies, management experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills and willingness to work flexible hours, where necessary.

This is an excellent opportunity to support the development of Harmeny at a time of expansion, with the postholder playing a key role in enabling the enhancement of the school and development of new services. Whilst the role is initially on a fixed-term basis, it may become permanent after a review.
