The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is a leading voluntary organisation, supporting people with a broad range of needs to live in their own homes, as part of their community. We are an organisation driven by strong values and a firm commitment to choice, dignity and social inclusion. Although we support over 2800 people throughout Scotland, we are committed to delivering services that recognise people as individuals and treat them with dignity and respect; just like we would all want ourselves.

We are currently looking to increase our Management team resource in the North Lanarkshire Area and are looking for someone who can help our supported individuals to achieve their own positive outcomes. We are therefore looking to recruit a new Senior Support Worker to join the team.

If you have experience of working in a fast paced environment, working to deadlines, chairing meetings, experience of liaising with families, social work and health professionals along with the ability to think on your feet, this could be the opportunity for you. There is a good range of skills within our existing staff and management teams and you won`t be left to deal with things alone and will receive excellent training. As the Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for managing a staff team who support individuals either within their own home, or within the family home. Some of the management tasks involved within this role are Managing staff rotas, carrying out Work Practice Reviews, Direct Observations and Staff Annual Reviews, you are also responsible for the completion and review of supported individuals personal plans, carrying out 6 monthly reviews in relation to the persons outcomes, completion and review of individual risk assessments

The individuals also require support at night therefore the services have rotas in place that include sleepovers and wakened nights. As part of the management team you will be required to undertake on call on a rotational basis and you may be required to work the full range of shift patterns and undertake sleepovers depending on the needs of the service.

There is full time post available (37.5 hours per week). Previous experience of supporting individuals with mental health issues, learning disabilities, autism and complex needs is essential for this role while experience of working with a wider client group would be advantageous. It would be beneficial if you have achieved or are working towards your SVQ 3 in Health & Social Care. The successful applicant must also register with SSSC as a Supervisor in Care at Home and Housing Support Services on taking up the post.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a change in your life and in that of the people we support. The work can be challenging, but as well as a competitive salary, enhanced pension contributions, annual leave and discounts at over 850 online and high street retailers, we can offer you a rewarding and satisfying role in your local community.
