For Scotland’s Mental Health
DBI is a two tiered response; a Level 1 response from frontline partnership agencies (A&E, Primary Care, Police Scotland & Scottish Ambulance Service) and a Level 2 supportive interventions delivered by SAMH. DBI level 2 will be provided by trained staff within SAMH who would contact the person within 24-hours of referral and provide compassionate community problem solving support, wellness and distress management planning, supported connections and signposting for a period of up to 14 days.
Due to the expansion of the service we are looking for a part time DBI Practitioner in our Borders Service. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives and support them to achieve their identified outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm. The requirement for this post is a minimum of 2 years of experience working or volunteering in the field of mental health. The office is based in Galashiels but staff will cover the whole Borders area.
As the position will involve a variety of shift patterns including evenings, weekends you will be flexible in the hours and shifts you are available to work. The post will include travel across the Scottish Borders, so access to your own transport is essential.
