Aberlour Sycamore is a residential child care service which provides a range of services including education, therapeutic care and fostering for some of Scotland’s most vulnerable children and young people. We work using a Dyadic Developmental Practice model which means we ensure that the child and their behaviour is understood and that the child feels as safe as is possible at home, in school and in social activities.
We are looking for individuals who will be playful, warm, accepting, curious and empathetic in their dealings with the children, and to bring these qualities to help us achieve our vision, which is to:
1. Provide the best option in Scotland for children who require to live in residential care.
2. Provide the best life-long learning services in Scotland which support children to lead happy and successful lives.
3. Be the best place in Scotland for staff to work and to support staff to achieve their individual and collective potential.
Our children and young people would like applicants who:
“keep me safe at night”
“are confident to play and have fun - who don’t sit back and just watch”
“are kind and fun”
“are kind and can make up bed time stories”
“are sound and likes football”
“are quiet but happy and likes Xbox and has their own controller to play me"

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, energetic and committed individuals who share our ambition that residential child care should be the first best option for children who need to be looked after away from home. Successful candidates must be comfortable in a culture based on respect, integrity, innovation and the ability to challenge.
