Stirling Carers Centre is looking to recruit to the post of Adult Carer Support Officer with a remit to specifically include benefits checks and assistance with the completion of relevant benefits forms, and as such we seek an applicant with the relevant experience and knowledge around the welfare system.
This post will join our existing Adult Carer Support Service. The main function of the post is to undertake benefits checks to maximise income for unpaid carers and assist with/ completion on behalf of for disability benefits and other applicable benefits forms, to provide information and support to unpaid adult carers through one to one practical and emotional support, assessment and completion of Adult Carer Support Plans. The role will also include facilitating carer events such as monthly short breaks, carer coffee mornings and other activities.
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in successfully engaging with service user groups, preferably from within a similar role.
Due to the nature of the post the successful applicant will be required to drive, have access to a car and the relevant business class insurance cover.
