We have an exciting opportunity available for a Family Wellbeing Worker (Young Carers Toolkit) based in schools across Aberdeenshire. This is a temporary post for 24 months from the start date.
The successful candidates will support the development of the Toolkit to incorporate local pathways relating to the Carers Act 2016 and the provision of the Young Carers Statements.
Key objectives and accountabilities:
support staff in Aberdeenshire schools, including the Named Person, to be aware of statutory obligations in relation to young carer indentification and support, including good practice in the completion of Young Carer Statements.
to engage with key staff in schools across Aberdeenshire to help develop confidence and skills to implement the Young Carers Schools Toolkit effectively, including provision of targeted awareness raising, training and support for individual staff, as agreed with schools.
to increase awareness in schools of specialist support providers for young carers and when to refer them.
to enable time-limited information provision and direct support for young carers identified within schools as a result of the application of the Toolkit, until schools have developed their own practice and process to ahcieve this. to contribute to the collation and sharing of data to inform future service planning and delivery across all agencies involved in supported young carers, through consultation with young carers and their families.
Due to the geographical location of the post across Aberdeenshire, a car driver with their own transport is essential for this post. Please note IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.

Quarriers have been commissioned by Aberdeenshire Council to deliver a support service to unpaid Carers of all ages throughout Aberdeenshire. The main service office base is in central Inverurie. Staff however, work flexibly throughout Aberdeenshire delivering services to unpaid carers in ways which best meet Carers needs e.g. in schools, Carers homes, community facilities or via technology.
