Turning Point Scotland is a national social care charity providing services to people with addictions, learning disabilities, mental health issues, those in the criminal justice system and those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

To manage services and build effective partnerships with purchasers within a designated area enabling Turning Point Scotland to achieve its commitment to quality services for clients and to continue development within Scotland.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

Ensure, as a member of the Senior Management Team that Turning Point Scotland’s corporate strategies and plans are developed and implemented within the area managed.

Ensure the continuing relevance of services to the needs of local communities by building active partnerships with purchasers to assess those needs and developing new and existing services.

Ensure that projects comply with relevant legislation and registration requirements and meet the highest possible standards of service delivery by monitoring and evaluating service standards with the involvement of users and purchasers.

Ensure the protection and best use of the organisations’ resources by implementing and observing Turning Point Scotland’s systems and procedures for financial control and property management.

Apply human resource strategies and plans so as to promote equality of opportunity, staff skill development and management of employee relations issues including attendance.

Directly line manage and provide supervision to the registered managers of our services in your area.

Represent Turning Point Scotland in order to promote the aims of the organisation and support corporate communication.

Enable the organisation to develop and achieve its corporate strategy and plans by undertaking specific tasks as requested, as a member of the TPS Strategic Management Team and in corporate project groups

Essential Criteria

Qualifications & Experience

You will have a relevant professional qualification and ideally a management qualification or the equivalent sector management experience

You will have experience in the development (both new and evolving) and the management of community based respite, additions, homelessness and/or criminal justice Services

Experience in setting and managing revenue and capital budgets, including the costing of new service developments with assistance from business development and finance colleagues

The post holder will be able to demonstrate the leadership characteristics of vision, creativity and innovation, self-leadership, collaborating and inspiring and empowering people.

The post holder will provide management and supervision to Service Managers. Some knowledge and experience of respite, criminal justice, homelessness and or addictions services is desirable but not essential.
