ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we are recruiting for a Service Lead to support people in East Renfrewshire - Local Area Co-ordination.
Local Area Co-ordination is a preventative, asset based approach to supporting people to connect to their communities and build meaningful lives. The aim of the service is to build inclusion and it does this by supporting the people it works for to develop their individual capacity whilst simultaneously working with communities to develop their capacity for inclusion. It is underpinned by a set of core practice principles and the principles of inclusion and hence emphasises the rights of disabled people to participate in all aspects of community, private, public and social life.
Local Area Co-ordinators:-
* Help connect disabled people to social institutions, networks and facilities across all spheres of life.
* Support organisations and individuals to challenge and address inequality and social exclusion.
* Work with disabled people and their families, as well as with community groups and organisations.
* Work flexibly across organisational and professional boundaries
The Service Lead for East Renfrewshire Local Area Co-ordination will have operational responsibility for their own caseload as a Local Area Coordinator; as well as line management responsibility to a team of Local Area Co-ordinators who have operational responsibility for their own caseload.
This key role will provide the necessary leadership and management to ensure that the service delivers on its planned outcomes and evidences best practice.
