Eighteen And Under (18u) is a charity based in Dundee which provides confidential support and information to young survivors of any kind of abuse. This multi award winning charity is innovative in its approach and led by the needs and wishes of young people and research-based evidence of what really works for young survivors. In addition to providing support and information, 18u has also developed a research-based violence and abuse prevention programme for use with children, young people and vulnerable adults in schools, sheltered housing complexes and communities.
The core purpose of the role is to inspire young people. The worker will be expected to recruit, train and provide support to a minimum of 25 young people not in education, employment or training, and other disadvantaged young people, to assist them to increase their skills and experience. This is with the aim of improving their access to accredited training and learning, increasing their employability and employment options and increasing their leadership skills.
