LinkLiving is a not-for-profit organisation and Scottish charity. We have been providing specialist services to support health, wellbeing, and community inclusion for over 25 years.

We are committed to positively supporting people to overcome the negative impacts on their lives of ill-health, poverty, inequality and isolation. We work to make a positive difference to the lives of people who are often excluded from society due to vulnerabilities including homelessness, mental health issues, physical health issues and social isolation. We provide care, support and employability services to over 1,000 people a year.

We’re seeking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to work in our Fife Support Service. If you share our values, this could be the role for you.

The Job

As a senior practitioner, you will work with a range of service user groups including complex and varied key-working issues, co-ordinate complex support arrangements and support the leadership of the service. You will have line management responsibility for a number of support workers to whom you will provide regular support and supervision. You will also be responsible for completing the performance management review process with all the support workers you line manage.

You will have full knowledge of multi-agency working, housing support systems and extensive knowledge of diversity of service user groups which you will use to establish and maintain respectful and empowering relationships with service users so that they feel valued and supported and in control of their own lives. You will be responsible for carrying out assessments of new service users and for reviewing existing service users on a regular basis.

In your role you will also offer practical, emotional and social support to people in their own homes to assist them to maintain their tenancy. You will need to develop warm and effective relationships with service users supporting them to cope with their lives in a positive and planned way so that they can make informed choices and take responsibility for their actions.

You will also need:

- Knowledge of social care and housing issues

- Knowledge of housing support / care at home systems

- Experience of leading a team and carrying out support and supervision

- Understanding of the issues affecting service users

- Current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable, roadworthy car

Successful applicants will be required to register with SSSC within 6 months of their start date.
