Role

Do you have a passion for politics and the environment and want to join us in our fight to save our world?

At WWF we have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious intern to gain valuable work experience as well as an insight into how a major international NGO working at the forefront of global conservation operates. We are looking to recruit a creative and motivated Policy and Public Affairs Intern to help coordinate WWF Scotland’s advocacy work in the Scottish Parliament.

Join us and you will get involved in research requests and the drafting of policy briefings. You will develop relationships with political stakeholders as well as assist with events management, including attending political party conferences. You will find yourself preparing briefings on relevant topics and drafting parliamentary questions as well as composing communications for Ministerial offices. You will also provide administrative support to the Policy and Public Affairs team as needed.

As Policy and Public Affairs Intern you will enjoy a unique opportunity to develop skills in research and analysis, public affairs, policy influencing, events organisation and administration.

For this role you will need excellent communication, research and analytical skills. A sound administrator, you will be highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines. You will be detail orientated and proficient with MSOffice packages too. You will also have a ‘can do’ attitude and be the sort of person willing to help out when the team is busy. Important will be an interest in Scottish politics and our mission and values.

Knowledge of climate change and/or agriculture and land use in Scotland would be an advantage.

Interviews will be held week commencing 26th August.
