Role

Bethany Christian Trust has been working for 35 years to end homelessness in Scotland, addressing the effects of homelessness and working to prevent homelessness from occurring in the first place.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced community development worker to support and develop Bethany Christian Trust’s community work in Moredun, Edinburgh. Working alongside our partner organisations, the Community Development Worker will support local citizens to build upon the assets in the local community.

The Community Development Worker will provide 1 to 1 and group support within the community.

This role is part of Bethany Christian Trust’s ‘Building Stronger Communities’ project which looks to tackle some of the root causes of homelessness. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in community engagement as well as in developing and supporting community-led projects.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require membership of the PVG scheme.
