Our Midlothian service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join our friendly team, delivering support across Midlothian, working from our base in Dalkeith. This is an exciting time to join our service, as we develop our systemic, therapeutic and peer support capacity in enabling families in their recovery from the impact of problematic substance use.

Children1st offer relational based support, taking a restorative, strengths based and trauma informed approach to enable individuals and families to achieve their goals. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and experienced in whole family systems approach, with a sound knowledge of the impact of substance misuse on parenting and children.

You will have a lead role within the team in coordinating and undertaking assessment of families and in creating outcome focused work plans, which ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. You will have the opportunity to engage in therapeutic 1:1 support with children and their families as well as co- work with colleagues as required. You will be experienced in working collaboratively with families, as part of a team and alongside a range of professionals.

We can offer you quality support and supervision; workload management; access to a range of opportunities for professional development; and an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and families. The team will at times support families who may require support in the early mornings, evenings and weekends and this would be planned in advance.

If you are an experienced professional with a Social Work, Community work, Counselling or other appropriate qualification, we would like to hear from you.

This is a fixed term, full time post of 35 hours per week until 31 May 2021.
