We are recruiting for the post of Physical Activity Coordinator, who will be integral in delivering our exciting Physical Activity Programme. They will be supported by and work closely with the Health Defence Lead and wider team.

The vision for the CHSS Health Defence programme is to be the face of prevention; raising awareness of risk factors for our conditions and supporting behaviour change to modify risk factors. This work aligns closely to the Public Health Priorities for Scotland.

The Physical Activity Co-ordinator will be responsible for the delivery of 3 key work streams; Physical Activity Pathway, Health Defence Support and Health Defence Policy and Campaigns. Health Defence is being piloted in Drumchapel, Glasgow. The Physical Activity Pathway is a National programme delivered across all our services. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the delivery of other CHSS Health Promotion activities if and when appropriate.

We are seeking an individual who is organised, motivated, with good communication skills and who has experience in Physical Activity, Public Health and an interest in health inequalities. Candidates must be educated to degree level in a relevant field such as Health Promotion, Sports development or Sports science, Community Education, health psychology, any other industry related health & fitness qualifications or other relevant experience in the field. Evidence of relevant continued professional development is required.

This post is fixed-term until September 2020 and is subject to PVG membership.
