Role

We want each person to know they are of infinite value and worth, undoing the hinderances of adverse childhood experiences to overcome the poor self-image that is the cultural norm. Through our “Confident Ruchazie” programme we are seeking to appoint someone to develop and coordinate a Volunteer Development programme which will lead to increased confidence, skills and wellbeing, enabling the individuals to fully contribute to the life of the community and Church. This post has been funded by Go for It and Awards for All.

About the Volunteer Development Worker

We want someone who has experience and passion in bringing the best out of people regardless of their upbringing or circumstances - someone who sees potential in every person within our community. The ability to work with people with acute childhood experiences to create a pathway for healing, confidence and wholeness is vital. We are wanting to enable people to find routes towards life in all its fullness – fulfilling their God-given potential. This would be a process where the therapeutic community of the church is seen as a positive and healing context for transformation.

General Responsibilities

  • To provide leadership and direction for the Volunteer Development programme.
  • To develop the church and community links to enable this programme.
  • To be a full member of the staff team including attending staff meetings.
  • To participate in the wider life of Ruchazie Church to enable the therapeutic community element of the work to develop.
