We need a committed individual with a proven track record in improving the lives of young people for our Junior Street Project (predominately 11 – 13yr olds with some 14yr plus volunteers). We use youth work, immersive theatre and facilitated workshops as a process to provide consequential learning experiences on issues that affect young people today.
The project blends youth work & drama in a very unique way and is the only one of it’s kind the UK. The service is for young people who are experiencing challenges in their lives. Every year between October - March participants perform live weekly to their peers, practioners, friends & family raising awareness of the difficulties they face. We also work in schools, provide one-off live performances at events & conferences across Scotland.
The Youth Support Worker will ensure the recruitment and referral process is accessible to all partners and young people in the target groups; provide 1 to 1 support to participants, co-ordinate the overall programme, recruit, train and support volunteers. You will be assisted by the part-time Drama Worker.
We need a dynamic person with a true passion for working with young people who will fit in with our small team and can drive the project forward ensuring the best outcomes for your young people.
You must be able to demonstrate your ability to making a difference to people’s lives. Youth Work track record is advantageous.
Driving licence and access to a car is essential.
