Action on Smoking and Health Scotland (ASH Scotland) is the independent Scottish charity taking action to reduce the harm caused by tobacco. Our vision is that everyone has the right to good health and to live free from the harm and inequality caused by smoking.
One of our key aims is to address the health inequalities that arise from smoking – knowing that the costs of smoking fall largely on disadvantaged communities. This is where you come in.
We are looking to recruit a Development Lead who will take forward our work in partnership with money advice and mental health support services, who will build our links with community and anti-poverty groups and who will help to develop our understanding of smoking as a social justice issue rather than a lifestyle choice.
The ASH Scotland staff team of 19 employees is based in central Edinburgh. Our work is funded by grants from the Scottish Government, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and others. Our current organisational strategy prioritises improving mental health, reducing poverty, raising the next generation tobacco-free, culture change and driving action in partnership.
To apply for this position, please send an up-to-date CV (no more than two pages) along with a covering letter using the template provided, illustrating why you are interested in this post and how you meet the requirements of the person specification. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 20th May 2019 and interviews will be held on Wednesday 29th May 2019 at ASH Scotland’s offices in central Edinburgh.
