The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 53,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

The College in Scotland is looking for an experienced Business Services Coordinator to coordinate the business services and act as front of house at the RCGP Office at 25 Queen Street, Edinburgh. The role will involve undertaking reception duties in a professional and positive manner, organising the booking and service provision of Queen Street meeting rooms, taking forward tasks that support both Business Services and wider team at RCGP Scotland.

Some additional key tasks for this role include providing support to our health and safety requirements, maintaining the professional appearance of all public areas and facilities at Queen Street, coordinating our IT and AV provision within the building, managing our internal business and office processes and liaising with the RCGP Property Team in London to ensure smooth communication and coordination of external contractors as necessary.

Educated to HNC level or equivalent, we are seeking candidates with experience of working in an office environment and delivering administrative tasks, including the organisation and planning of events and meetings and supporting customer needs.

Candidates should have excellent customer services skills, excellent communication and listening skills, good keyboard skills plus experience of Microsoft office and Internet Explorer, an ability to work with suppliers and contractors in an effective manner, and an excellent understanding of how meetings are administered effectively. You will be able to work under your own initiative, be a team player with strong organisational skills and an ability to prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
