Do you enjoy being in a changing and dynamic environment? Are you passionate about improving the lives of babies, children, young people and their families with life limiting conditions? Do you have the ability to engage and work alongside people?
Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) is the sole provider of hospice services in Scotland for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Our vision is that babies, children and young people in Scotland will have access to palliative care when and where they need it and we currently have a rare and exciting opportunity within our Family Support Team at Rachel House for a Child and Family Worker.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join the Family Support Team to help develop our service for children with life-limiting conditions and their families and also to work alongside our multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive service. You will ideally be qualified to a minimum of an HND level in a relevant subject area, and will have palliative care experience of working with children with complex care requirements. Experienced in working with families at times of acute stress and loss, you will have strong communication skills with the ability to manage highly complex and sensitive information and will have awareness of counselling and therapeutic interventions currently available. You will be able to work independently as well as being an enthusiastic team player. You will need to be highly organised with the ability to deal with competing demands in order to co-ordinate, develop and deliver a service provision designed to assist with issues related to the baby, child or young person’s condition and the impact it has upon the wider family.
Please note this position is subject to a satisfactory PVG certificate.
