Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. Today, SAMH operates 60 services in communities across Scotland providing mental health social care support, homelessness, addictions and employment services among others. These services, together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.
SAMH’s Peer Support Service introduces a new approach to working with people living in North Lanarkshire experiencing and recovering from mental health issues; focusing on individuals’ recovery through self-management and accessing naturally occurring resources in their communities.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Link Worker within the Airdrie locality, working closely with the Peer Support Workers to support service users to develop their community networks to promote new skills, confidence and relationships
The Primary Care Link Worker will utilise social inclusion and community mapping approaches to develop links and relationship with other agencies within the community and create opportunities for individuals. This Post requires you to work autonomously within a variety of GP practices and requires Resilience and Self Management skills.
Applications are welcome from people who have experienced mental health difficulties. A PVG check is required for this post, along with a Right to Work in the UK check. Candidates will also be required to provide proof of qualifications declared on the application form.
