Carer Services Manager

  • Salary Points 36 to 39 (starting at £32,010). This is a full-time post 35 hours per week Monday - Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. Flexibility is required for evening and weekend working.

We seek to recruit a confident, motivated and professional person with an awareness of the impact of the caring role and the issues faced by unpaid carers. A relevant qualification in Health, Social Care or Community Development, or equivalent, with a minimum of three years management experience preferable in a carers organisation.

The post holder will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will assist with all aspects of the operational management of the organisation. With lead responsibility for specific service delivery areas, the post holder will also deputise for the CEO as required, and make key contributions to the work of the management team, staff and organisation as a whole.

Working closely with staff, volunteers, carers and partner organisations, the post holder will help to develop, coordinate, facilitate and review integrated information, advice and support services for carers throughout Lanarkshire. The post holder will successfully contribute to the implementation of the organisations’ business plan, strategic and operational development and the implementation of all aspects of our service delivery model.

Other responsibilities of the post include, but are not limited to; funding applications and budget responsibility; preparation of work and project plans, reports and records; line management responsibility for carers support workers and other staff, facilitation of team development days, coordination of groups, carer activities, and events; supporting and raising the profile of Lanarkshire Carers Centre throughout Lanarkshire.

The post holder will ensure compliance and understanding of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and carers needs throughout the organisation.
