Town Break SCIO was created and is run by people with deep and extensive knowledge of the range and complexity of problems faced by people with dementia living within the Stirling Council area.
Through our services we aim to support people to retain skills, avoid social isolation and enable people to remain connected to their communities. Town Break supports people with dementia so that they are able to continue to live within their own home for as long as possible. We also support their carer, if applicable, by providing them with advice and some respite time. We deliver various person-centred services including our Day Club, Befriending Service and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Programme.
The charity is looking for a highly motivated individual, with an understanding of the issues relating to dementia and working alongside volunteers, to fill this vacancy. You will support the development and work of the charity under the direction and supervision of the Dementia Services Manager. The post will include working with individuals living with dementia, their carers and families and matching them with suitable volunteers after a period of recruitment and training. You will be responsible for delivering services at locations across the Stirling Council area with potential development into neighbouring Falkirk and Clackmannanshire. You should be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and have good interpersonal/listening skills to allow you to communicate effectively.
The successful applicant will require to be registered as a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG).
Closing date for applications is: 5pm on Friday 27th September 2019 and interviews are scheduled for Thursday 17th October.
